Ramaphosa is a South African politician and businessman who has been the president of South Africa since 2018. In his address to Parliament on Tuesday, he shared that the country's unemployed and poor need more support from government in order to improve their lives. "We cannot have an economy where there are half-million people unemployed," he said. "It is unacceptable."

In his speech, Ramaphosa acknowledged that many South Africans were feeling hopeless about a lack of jobs and opportunities for growth. He also talked about how important it is for children to be able to go to school without fear or violence, as well as other issues facing communities across the country such as poverty, crime, homelessness and HIV/AIDS.

South Africa's president Cyril Ramaphosa has said the country’s unemployed and poor need more support. Speaking at a rally in Pretoria, he urged people to work hard for themselves, but also help others who are less fortunate than them. He says that working together will make the nation stronger. The African National Congress (ANC) leader is addressing concerns of growing inequality in his first major speech since taking office last month after Jacob Zuma was forced out by his party amid corruption allegations. This comes as unemployment rises to 27% with little change expected this year or next - one of the highest rates on the continent alongside Nigeria's 36%.
