REVEAL: How They Know Your Number, Bank, Etc Already And What They Want From You.

E.AOmolaju 07/14/2020

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. About 85% of all bank account holders in Nigeria would have received this call in the past.

"Hello Sir, I am calling from your bank."

But only about 50% know what this usually turns out to be.

So for the sake of that naive 35%, let me tell you where the conversation usually leads to. Pay attention!

"Yes sir, I am a customer care agent from your bank. We have noticed some issues"

"This issues could cause your bank account to be frozen/blocked/cancelled/etc and all your money lost"

"But we can solve the situation over the phone. We just need you to confirm that this account is yours"

"Can you give us the following information?" View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

And so the scam begins! In the name of correcting this "issue". They can request for your ATM card number/PIN/or something else.

If you show any sign of doubt, they will quickly start to mention your BVN NUMBER, ACCOUNT DETAILS, ADDRESS, and many other facts about you that are true.

This makes almost all their victims accept that they are really from the bank.

But how do they know? How did they get all that information? Let's read on.

Their source is very simple. And with a few actions, you can keep them from getting your information again.

First, Your Phone Number:

If you are the type of person that registers everything with their phone numbers —For example, opening a FB account with your number— then you are more likely to get more their calls.

Next time, if you're registering for something. Use your email address instead of your phone number if possible.

Second, Your BVN:

Scammers usually have an insider working at the bank!

You don't believe me? Open a new account and see how many calls you'll get the following week!

We are not condemning any bank here.

There is almost no way to stop this information from reaching the hands of Yahoo boys.

The best thing you can do is ignore them when they mention your BVN.

In fact, there are so many ways to get a person's BVN online only by just knowing his name and bank.

No. 3, Your Bank Name:

Just like when a foreign number calls you, you see the name of the country, same thing applies to your bank's name.

It is not a private information or fact.

Don't let anyone fool you just by mentioning your bank's name. It means nothing.

4, Your Address:

This is connected to point 2.

Because some scammers have access to the details your bank keep, it's easy for them to also know the address you registered with.

KEEP IN MIND!!!!!

No one (not even your bank) will ever need or ask you for the following things:

•Your ATM card PIN

•Your ATM card serial number

•The three digit number at the back of your ATM card.

•Your mobile banking PIN

•You card-less banking PIN

IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH YOUR ACCOUNT, VISIT THE NEAREST BRANCH OF YOUR BANK!!!

DON'T ATTEMPT TO SOLVE IT ONLINE OR OVER CALL!!
