However, the rules as to how to take the bath seem to differ from one person to another. But there is a unanimous agreement perhaps to what is necessary for bathing; soap. Most people perceive soap as an integral part of their bathing process, but there is a divided opinion as to whether to use sponge or not.

There are reasons why it is necessary for you to use sponge when bathing, because with sponge you can put your skin in the best state you desire. Below are the seven key reasons it is necessary for you to use sponge while bathing.

To start with, the benefits of using a sponge while bathing is enormous, first, it helps in Exfoliation. That is, the scrubbing of the skin with a sponge helps to easily remove dead skin cells, remove pollutants and reveal glowing skin which hides under all the blemishes. Exfoliation also helps to remove dirt & pollutants trapped between skin pores which may cause other health hazards.

Using sponge also makes you feel refreshed after bath. Some may disagree here, saying they may feel refreshed after a bath without sponge, however, the freshness experienced after a good bath with sponge cannot be compared with one without a sponge. Such bath makes you safe and your skin will be well fortified against most skin-related diseases.

Bathing with sponge helps in Blood Circulation. It has been scientifically proven that scrubbing your skin increases blood circulation while free flow of blood in the body helps in removing harmful substances & toxins from the skin. Scrubbing the skin is a physical activity which involves the use of energy and that translates into working out the heart, thereby, increasing heartbeat.

It is important to stress here that, scrubbing the skin in a hard way doesn’t determine the cleanliness of the skin. Some individuals in a bid to achieve a clean body scrub their skin until it causes skin rash and they feel peppery sensation after bath that has no bearing on how clean your skin would be. As a matter of fact, Gentle Scrubbing helps you to remove the dirt on the outer layer of the skin and keeps you clean. Please note also that, using artificial scrubs that is harsh on your skin can lead to acne and pimples. Therefore, to avoid inflammation of the skin and other irritation on your skin, scrub gently.

Using sponge to bath regularly helps you to reduce or even eradicate body odor. It has been discovered that sweats and the presence of dead skin cells are the major causes of body odor. So, constantly bathing with sponge will help you remove the primary cause-dead skin cells and the sweats won’t have much effect.

The kind of soap you use also plays a crucial role. Most people use any type of soap to bath, some change bathing soap like they change their singlet and to add to it, they won’t bother to use sponge. This can cause skin related diseases. It is advisable to use the soap that will be tender on your skin and not the ones that have harsh chemicals like bar soaps. Some people go as far as using bar soap to bath. It is not advisable to use any soap that comes to mind.

Finally, the sponge you use while bathing matters. It is advisable to get a soft sponge, discard the myth of the harder the sponge the better the bath. Use a soft sponge that will bring out the best out of your skin. The most important thing is to use sponge when bathing regularly.
