The recent protest in Nigeria shows that Nigerians are tired of their old leaders. They didn't protest for EndSARS alone. They protested for #EndSARS, #EndSWAT, #EndPolicebrutality, #ReformPolice, and #Youthsinpower. Youths in power was not as obvious as the rest of the hash tags. But it is also very important. They want the ratio of the older leaders and the youth leaders to be 50:50. For instance, if a president is old, the vice president should be a youth. This is exactly what the youths want.

Let's take a look at some beautiful moments when the EndSARS protest was still fresh and peaceful.

Initially, the protest was peaceful and encouraging, but with time, it turned to something else. It started going bad when it began to involve injuries on protesters and even their alleged killings. It later graduated to looting of stored Covid-19 palliatives and other public and private properties. Many people frowned at this act as they try their best to call them to order. It was as if they lost their sense. It was as if they forgot the primary aim of the protest.

The protest made many people and families shed tears as they lost either their family members or their friends. It also set some prisoners free. We saw what happened in Edo state. Such prison break in Edo state has never occurred in that state before. We learnt that the governor of the state, governor Godwin Obaseki requested the immediate return of the prison breakers back to the prison. We also saw a letter addressed to governor Obaseki, written by one of the ex-inmates who took park in the prison break concerning his request for their return.

We also saw how the youths blasted Desmond Elliot over his statement regarding the protest and the so called Lekki massacre. The youths' main grievance was the fact that Desmond Elliot referred to them as kids. We later saw how he apologized and also how the youths blasted him again after he had rendered what looked like an apology. They said that he is an actor, therefore, he can't deceive them by just shedding tears.

We also saw how the victims of what happened in Lekki toll gate struggled to survive. We saw how those who died were buried. Indeed, they died fighting for the betterment of the great country, Nigeria.

The protest, from beginning to the end are both dramatic and sorrowful. We saw how a male protester took his bed and few domestic utensils to protest ground. That was dramatic. We saw how the youths contributed some money for a woman when sells groundnut and a lady who came out to protest despite she has one leg and many other memorable events that took place during that period.

We heard that another protest has begun without hesitation. Although, this one has not gained energy yet. The previous protest didn't end well. It was as if most youths forgot the essence of the protest as they go about looting stored Covid-19 palliatives and public and private properties. The essence of the fight, or rather the protest is simply for government to put an end to SARS and police brutality. But the focus of some youths is for balance in the political offices with regards to age.

Youths want their fellow youths in power and they are ready to achieve that. Americans don't seem to have any problem with the age of their leaders. As Nigerian youths are fighting to have youths in power, Americans are voting in Joe Biden who is not a youth. Let us talk about Joe Biden's age which shows that Americans are not just interested in age, unlike Nigerian youths.
