There was a viral report circulating on social media today that a bird was killed in a town called Ofagbe in Delta State. According to the report, the bird was falcon, and it's known to be the fastest bird in the world.
After the bird was killed, a tag was found on the leg of the bird which reads:"Museum 200L Helsinki Finland"
Sometimes, the attitude of killing anything and everything needs to be checked. The killing of this bird is too barbaric. It's quite clear that in Nigeria, whenever we see strange birds, what comes to our mind would be the bird is evil or it was sent by an evil person.
In western world, their own mentality is not like that. You can't just kill any animals there. Imagine now that this special bird, the fastest bird in the world has been killed in Delta state, Nigeria. The tag on the leg of the bird shows that the bird is one of the research birds from a University in Finland.
It's so sad that the poor bird was killed by people who don't know the value of it. See photos of the bird below:

After it was posted on social media, lot of people reacted to it. One of the user said:
@Kaylechi_:"This is a research bird owned by the University of Helsinki. Birds are often released by research institutes for study & experimental purposes hence the tag. Also, birds seen as "last of their kind" are also released for procreation & preservation. IT'S A RESEARCH BIRD!!"
