Candyreport 1d
The Fulani people in Nigeria originated from Futa Tower in the Lower Senegal and the 14th Century.
During the 16th Century the Fulani people established their selves as Madina, and were moving East towards Hausaland.
During the 19th century most of them settled in Adamawa in the North, few of them continue to live as Christians, some even became pastors but most of them settled into some Urban communities in Hausa land and most of them converted to Islam, some of them got married to the Hausa people. These people were the Town Fulani or mostly called the Fulani God's.
The second group of the Fulani called the Cow Fulani were mainly herds men, they lived apart from the Hausa people and most of them were 'pegans'.
During the 1790s, Usman Dan Fodio, a Fulani Divine who lived in the Northern house with the Emirs had an issue with the other rulers, and out of anger he told the Hausas to revolt.
Usman Dan Fodio started to preach against the rulers and Kings of the Hausas, he accused them of not practicing Islam the right way. Lots of people especially Fulani followed his teaching, and the Emir got angry and tried everything to stop him and his followers. Usman got more angrier and declared holy war against the rulers of the Hausas.
The Usman war began in the 1800 and by 1810 he and his followers had already conquered most of the Hausa States and communities. After he conquered all the Hausa States he replaced their leaders and Emirs with Fulani Leaders. He had his headquarters in Sokoto and all the Fulani Emirs and leaders goes there to pay Tribute to him. The President Emirs of Northern Nigeria are descendants from Fulani people.
At that time people started to call Usman the "Commander of the Faithful".
Before Usman passed away he shared the Rulership and control of the Empire to the East and West, he gave the control of the West to his brother in Gwandu, and gave the control of the East to the elder son in Sokoto.
After the Fulani people conquered Hausa they did not back down from raiding their 'pagan' neighbours in the South, they conquered most of them and sold them as slave to North Africa slave traders. Finally they crossed Niger and attacked Illorin and the Northern part of Oyo State. Ilorin thus came under the Fallen Empires.
