She mostly takes the role of a harsh mother-in-law in Yoruba Movies while many fans have assumed, she probably a harsh person in real life. With the real name Toyin Afolayan, she is also a filmwriter, producer and director.

The Nollywood Actress, Toyin Afolayan is also known as the initiator of popular internet slangs Soro Soke were and Pele My Dear. Soro Soke Were is a term used by #EndSars protesters in Nigeria to demand that Government Speak Up and Louder on the excess of the SARS Police unit in the country.

Toyin Afolayan was born in Kwara State, Lola is an anut to Kunle, Aremu and Gabriel Afolayan. Lola Idije as fondly called was introduced into acting by Kunle's father, Adeyemi Afolayan popularly called Ade Love. She became popular after starring in a 1995 film titled Deadly Affair as madam Adisa. Toyin also acted in a movie, Irapada which was produced by her nephew Kunle Afolayan where she played the role of Kunle's mother in the movie and Some of Lola Idije's movies included; Lady Terror, Irapada, Igba Eda, Olorogun and Pappy and Mammy.

Toyin Afolayan has won various awards and nominations in the film industry and she has collaborated with various actors and actresses from Superstars Nollywood actors including Oga Bello, Mr Latin, Sanyeri, Madam Saje, Iyabo Ojo, Fathia Williams, others.
Toyin Afolayan was married but lost her husband a few years ago and a son and three daughters were born in the marriage, since then she has chosen not to remarry because no man would accept her with her kids or her kids would not be allowed to enjoy quality care if she even found a man who will accept them, and she can’t compare her kids with anything in this world so she decided to stay with them and forget the idea of marrying another man.
Although, Toyin's life hasn't always been rosy as she lost her only son many years ago as a baby. Lola Idije confessed that the death of her male child is the saddest thing that ever happened to her.
Regardless, the popular actress is grateful to God that her three female children are doing well. Her daughters are identified as Omobolanle, Temitope Aduke and Okikiola Adetoun
Omobolanle is the first daughter of Toyin Afolayan born 3rd January, she got married to on June 15, 2016 to Mr. Olagunju. The union is blessed with two children Oluwajomiloju Momooreoluwa Kikidaope and Obaloluwa Aduragbemi Abefe.

Okikiola Adetoun is the last daughter born 29th February. she graduated from a university in the United State on May, 2016.
