Argentina's soccer legend and icon, Diego Maradona has died at the age of 60, the Argentine national team confirmed the sad news.

Diego Maradona, globally considerred as one of the greatest soccer players of all time, had been recovering in his home at tigre after undergoing a brain surgery earlier this month, Goal.com added.

At the beginning of this month, hospital test showed a blood clot on his brain, Goal.com stated. However, doctors described the surgery as successful.

The World Cup-winner was recently hospitalized and underwent brain surgery and was released on Nov. 11.

As reported by The Sun, Maradona married his longtime fiancee Claudia Villafane in 1989, The two met when she was 17, born and brought up in Buenos Aires, Villafane pursued a career as a TV personality and producer.

A report by BBC in March 2019 stated that Maradona was slated to acknowledge the paternity of three children in Cuba, despite having once denied he children other than with his former wife.
