Glen Johnson has given his score prediction ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Old Trafford on Saturday to face Manchester United (official Twitter).
Ex-Blues defender Johnson, who won two league titles with the club during his time at Stamford Bridge, has predicted a 2-1 Chelsea win away from home.
He’s also named Kai Havertz as the first goalscorer.
Chelsea visit United on Saturday evening for a Premier League showdown and the two teams know a lot about each other.
Frank Lampard’s side faced off against them four times in all competitions last season, with United winning both league games by an aggregate score of 6-0 and also edging a Carabao Cup meeting.
The Blues can take heart from the fact they beat Manchester United 3-1 in the FA Cup semi-finals back in July and they go into the weekend’s fixture with a plethora of new talent.
Havertz, 21, is one of several new signings at the Bridge that are slowly beginning to settle in their new home and he’s adding something extra going forward.
His German teammate Timo Werner is another attacker that supporters are starting to see glimpses of quality from and the duo will surely be excited to play at Old Trafford, especially as they both scored in the club’s last league game.
Chelsea go into the match off the back of a goalless draw against Sevilla in midweek where they showed some defensive steel, while their upcoming opponents impressed in a 2-1 away win against Paris Saint-Germain.
