Most persons thought that the match would be an easy ride with the way the Super Eagles started like a house on fire, but that was not to be the case. One might begin to ponder, what happened yesterday? was it that the Super Eagles became relaxed, or the Sierra Leone guys were more motivated?

Well, this will not be the first time a Nigerian team will be involved in a big comeback. The comeback was so big that it was tagged a miracle - "The Miracle of Dammam" after the venue of the stadium.

The comeback for Nigeria began in the 61st minute. With 4 goals down, the Nigerian boys never felt despaired and still gave their all. A brace from Christopher Ohenhen, and goals from Samuel Elijah & Nduka Ugbade in the 61st, 75th, 83rd, and 84th minute respectively saw the Eagles level the score.

Down to penalties it went and Nigeria eventually overcame 5-3 on penalties. In doing so, Nigeria became  became the first team to come back from four goals down to equalize and then go on to win at a FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria advanced to the semis and defeated the USA 2-1 but unfortunately lost in the final to Potugal.
