Nigerians and international communities have raised over N17m for the late Product Designer, Oke Obi-Enadhuze, who was killed during the violence that marred the EndSARS protest in the Mafoloku Area of Lagos State.

Oke was reportedly shot in the neck by irate hoodlums who stormed Makinde Police Station in Mafoluku on Wednesday, October 21.

The victim’s younger brother, Obi-Enadhuze Daniel, had last month in a series of tweets narrated how his brother was stabbed by thugs in their Police Barrack home.

He also alleged that the hoodlums ransacked their house and carted away with everything they own before setting it on fire.

A GoFundMe account set up by a Senior Lecturer in Strategy at Nottingham Business School, UK, Dr Dipo Awojide, to support his widowed mother and younger brother, Daniel, has generated €38,177.27 (17,327,438.72).

Dr Awojide made the announcement in a tweet on Wednesday night.

He wrote; “Thank you friends of Oke Obi-Ehadhuze, colleagues, groups, companies, and everyone who shared the GoFundMe page we created, and those who generously donated to his family after the loss.

“The donations have now been sent by GoFundMe. (Amount raised – €38,701, figure after deductions by GoFundMe – €38,177.27)

“Thanks to the GoFundMe team who generously donated €500 towards the sum above.

“The final sum of €38,177.27 has been sent to Oke’s family. Once again, THANK YOU everyone.”
