It was really a sad day for the family of the Abuja Vendor who was hit by a stray bullet fired by the aide of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and this led to serious mourning from fellow vendors and family members. The Speaker had earlier paid a condolence visit to the widow, Josephine Okereke to sympathize with her over the death of his husband which he described as regrettable.

The wife of the vendor who was killed by a Department of State Services operative attaches to Femi Gbajabiamila has disowned her husband's family over their demand for N500m compensation. She made this known at a press conference in Abuja today, Thursday 25. The family had earlier demanded N500m compensation over the death of their brother, Okereke as they said his death came as a shock to them. The widow said that she was not aware of the Pre-litigation process and told the Speaker to ignore her husband family and fulfill his promise to her and her two children.

A lot of Nigerians have reacted to this and they are blaming the wife of the late vendor for not allowing his family to demand the N500m. It could be that this woman decided to disown her late husband's family because N500m compensation will not bring him back.
