Few hours ago,Manchester United took on contenders Southampton in what promised to be an action packed match. The two sides fought for the three points,with Manchester United more keen because of the wrong leg on which they started the season with,losing 6-1 and 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace respectively.

Manchester United needed the points to climb up to 7th on the EPL table,just behind Everton and Southampton. The match which ended sometime ago saw Manchester United suffering a 2-0 defeat in the early minutes of the first half,with a brilliant header and a stunning freekick giving Southampton the lead.
As the second half progressed, Manchester United took control of the game to perform an astounding comeback, beating Southampton 3-2.

Manchester United and Southampton coaches, O.G Solskjaer and R. Hasenhuettl brought their strongest starting eleven,with Ole benching Anthony Martial and bringing in Donny Van De Beek and Mason Greenwood to play together.
2. Greenwood misses a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, failing to give United the early lead

Mason Greenwood missed a great opportunity to score from a promising position,even as the Allex Telles assist saw the keeper moving out of the goal post. In the second half of the game,he also missed another brilliant opportunity to score,this time around shooting the ball directly to the goal keeper.
3. Southampton controls the game in the first half

The first half of the game saw Southampton dominating the field,striking shots on target and generally keeping United on the defensive. This attack saw Manchester United conceding two first half goals,one from a Bednarek header and another from a Ward-Prowse freekick,which David De Gea totally failed to stop.

4. De Gea is not fit yet for another match

Manchester United goal keeper,David De Gea picked up an injury during the match,and was subsequently replaced by Henderson in the second half. Previously,De Gea had conceded two goals which affected the morale of the team.

5. Bruno Fernandes and Rashford both fail to score in the first half

Bruno Fernandes missed a one-on-one goal in the first half,after the keeper had punched Greenwood's shot away. Rashford missed his minutes later,failing just to hit the desired mark as the goal keeper touched the ball.
6. Southampton winger,Djenepo shines

Djenepo gave Manchester United right back,Aaron Wan-Bissaka a tough time,as he dribbled past him several times. Fred wasn't left out too,as he received the skills of the talented winger. Djenepo had opportunities to score twice,but Henderson was there to save the goal.
The winger really showed his worth on the pitch today.
7. Edison Cavani came on in the 46th minute,gave a nice assist and scored a brace

Manchester United number 7, Cavani came on in the game at the 46th minute, replacing Mason Greenwood. The striker gave Bruno Fernandes a brilliant assist, before going on to score a brace of header,with a single assist from Marcus Rashford.

Cavani came on and changed the game, inspiring the team and giving a clinical finish to all his headers,which resulted in two goals for Manchester United.
His presence also helped Rashford to locate someone inside the box.

8. Cavani shows Martial how a deadly a striker should be

Prior to the coming of Cavani to Manchester United, Anthony Martial had being on the receiving ends of criticisms by fans,due to his poor finishing. But with Cavani in the picture now,Martial will have to learn from him how lethal a striker ought to be or be dropped from the starting XI of Manchester United.
As Cavani was given the Man Of The Match award, Manchester United climbs up to 7th on the PL table, behind Everton and Southampton (6th and 5th respectively).
9. Henderson is the perfect replacement for David De Gea

David De Gea maybe a good goal keeper who have led Manchester United to many tournaments and excelled,but the match against Southampton shows that it maybe time for Dean Henderson to take over from him.
Henderson is just the perfect replacement for De Gea,as we hope the latter recovers from injury very soon.
