"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan class=\"view-HD-pictures-wrap\"\u003E\n \u003Cimg class=\"view-HD-pictures\" data-src=\"https:\u002F\u002Fres.6chcdn.feednews.com\u002Fassets\u002Fv2\u002F23e44bc5f2e34260b711ee1978961ef8?quality=uhq&format=jpeg&resize=720\"\u003E\n \u003Cspan class=\"view-HD-pictures\"\u003EView pictures in App save up to 80% data.\u003C\u002Fspan\u003E\n \u003C\u002Fspan\u003E\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EClassroom teachers who have appeared neglected in the evaluation of their salaries are poised for a major win as Salary increment looms in July.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAn analysis by Salaries and Rumenaratin Commission (SRC) established that majority of classroom teachers have been forced to contend with poor pay as School Managers enjoy promotions and massive salary increments in yester years.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAccording to SRC, the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that was based on the last job evaluation highly favored head teachers leaving classroom teachers with poor pay.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAnd with the Introduction of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), it has been established that teachers are poised to take up more roles and duties that signals the need to have them paid more.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIt has also emerged that the report on evaluation of teachers pay has collapsed the numeration of teachers based on categories of schools since it has hindered administrative challenges specifically on appointment and deployment and transfer of teachers.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ECategorization of schools based in National, extra-county, county and sub-cojbty schools has been replaced with career pathways of social sciences arts and sports science and Science Technical Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis means that teachers new job descriptions will capture their added new roles under the CBC giving classroom teachers more pay\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EProposal by KNUT, KUPPET and TSC\u003C\u002Fstrong\u003E\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EA pproposal by KNUT indicates that teachers should have a salary increment of between 120 and 200 per cent.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis means the monthly basic salary of the lowest teacher(Grade B5) would rise from Sh21,756 to a maximum of Sh87,024 while that of the highest paid teacher will rise from Sh131, 389 to a maximum of Sh394, 140.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EKuppet on the other hand want a salary increment of between 40 to 70 per cent.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis means the lowest paid teacher's salaries will rise from Sh21, 856 to Sh35, 985 while the highest paid teachers who take home Sh118, 242 will take home Sh153, 714.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ETSC on the other hand, has proposed a salary increment of between 17 to 32 per cent.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ETSC Chair Nancy Macharia recommended that teachers below grade CA to D5 get a 16 per cent salary increment while those in Grade B5 to C3 take home 32 per cent raise.\u003C\u002Fp\u003E"
