According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Kamau decided to stay put in his car from 2am, waiting for dawn break so that he could get mechanics to fix his vehicle.

At around 5am, he alighted from his broken down car which he had parked by the roadside and he trekked to nearby Mukuyu, hoping to get help.

However, while on the way, he decided to go back to his car to get back his charger and he was met by the unthinkable.

"Kamau was shocked beyond words, to find his earlier broken down vehicle missing. How it disappeared from where he had left it 30 minutes earlier, baffled him," a statement from the investigative agency indicated.

A distraught Kamau later went to the Murang'a Police Station to report the matter.

Arrest of serious con

In a separate report, a week ago, detectives arrested a woman alleged to be a serial con involved in fraudulent sales of hired motor vehicles.

Eunice Lewa Kimondiu, alias Agnes Mutheu, who hails from Kahawa Sukari in Nairobi, was nabbed on Saturday, September 4, in Gatundu.

Kiambu DCI sleuths pounced on Kimondiu when she was about to sell a Toyota Wish (KCF 263A) which she had previously hired from Kitale.

Unbeknownst to her, the interested buyer of the vehicle happened to have escorted a female friend to Kiambu DCI offices on July 15, 2021, to report a case of fraud where she (Kimondiu ) sold to her a hired Toyota Axio while using forged documents.
