View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The United Democratic Alliance party has disclosed when they will be naming Deputy President William Ruto's August polls running mate as fresh details emerge.
United Democratic Alliance Party National Chairman Johnson Muthama has informed that as the UDA party although they have not come into conclusion on who will deputize DP Ruto in his statehouse race.
They have several names on the table adding that qualifications bot be based on Community College or Individual but a person who has the potential to promote the idea pursued by the party.
Muthama has said that the UDA Party's intention is to bring Kenyans together and that they font want a running mate who will come to divide them hence halting their idea. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
"We have not settled on anyone now but we have many qualified candidates for the position. Our choice will not be based on a particular community or individual, but we are looking for someone who will promote the unity message we are pursuing as a party. We intend to bring all Kenyans together," UDA National Chairman Johnson Muthama said.
The former Machakos Senator has said that although they are not in a hurry to name who will be the Deputy President on the UDA ticket. They are keen on ensuring that they follow the timeline given by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission hinting that by May 2022 they will have named who will be DP Ruto's running mate.
" We are in no hurry to name a running mate. We are within what the law requires of us. The IEBC requires us to present our presidential ticket by May," Muthama has added.
