The war of words between the Permanent Secretary for Interior Karanja Kibicho and allies of the ODM leader Raila Odinga has just started.

This follows latest remarks by PS Kibicho regarding a series of attacks that were directed at him by allies of the ODM leader.

Siaya Senator James Orengo and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, a week ago, came out guns blazing at the PS accusing him of meddling in the affairs of the BBI secretariat.

Junet threatened that the ODM party will scuttle the initiative if their concerns are not heeded to and government officers kept off the campaigns and the 2022 succession politics.

But speaking for the first time in a rejoinder to their concerns, Kibicho told off the ODM brigade saying the constitutional amendments is not a one man show and therefore he will not stop carrying out civic education to his people on the proposals of the constitutional amendment Bill, 2020.

Speaking in Gacatha Secondary School in Kirinyaga County, Kibicho said he will continue with his duties uncowed regardless of the noise being directed at him.

"We are being told that we are technocrats and that we should shut up. Never. The Constitution is for everyone and the interior ministry has a civic duty to conduct civic education so that our people can understand what the BBI entails to be able to make informed decisions. I will go ahead with civic education without fear. I will not be cowed.

His rejoinder will no doubt elicit massive debate in the near future given that allies of the ODM leader Raila Odinga are known for lashing out a fiery exchanges on such political issues.
