Ruto leads Raila in the race for the State House, according to the final and most recent Radio Africa Group poll, with 45 percent of the vote. Raila trails closely behind with 44 percent.
Consequently, if presidential elections were held today, neither of the two perceived frontrunners would receive the 50 percent plus one vote required by the Constitution to be proclaimed the winner.
The study placed George Wajackoyah of Roots Party in a distant third place with 2% favorability.
The poll has an error margin of +/-1.8 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent. The survey was conducted from July 20 through July 27. There were a total of 3,000 participants, proportionally distributed across the 47 counties.
This is a major win for Deputy President William Ruto,as it shows that he is ahead of Raila just one week to the elections.
