President Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday held a crucial meeting at the latter's Karen Home.
The meeting came after the ODM leader had met senior official of the ODM party at the same home.
The top brass leadership of the Orange Party deliberated on myriad of issues including their commitment to the Handshake and the BBI.
The meeting came after the ODM leader tested negative for Covid-19 that he had been battling with in the last three weeks.
Earlier reports indicated that Raila’s Meeting came after Uhuru had made a phone call to the ODM leader during which they agreed to end squabbles within their camps and rally their troops towards committing to their Handshake pact.
Wednesday's night meeting came at time when it was least expected.
Social media reports alleged that a convoy of President Uhuru was seen heading towards Raila’s official residence.
As of Thursday, the alleged meeting had remained mere allegations with no official confirmation being made either by State House Kenya or Raila’s communication team.
According to Daily Nation, the meeting indeed happened and it was centered around the Handshake and other issues of National importance.
The Daily claims that Senior ODM officials including Suna East MP who is part of the leadership of the BBI secretariat was in attendance.
Also, the Senate Minority Whip James Orengo was also present.
The two leaders had earlier protested against senior government officials in the Office of the President who they accused of plotting to sabotage the Handshake and influence the 2022 succession politics as they sideline the ODM leader.
The meeting sought to end the blame game and embark on fresh trajectory that will see the Handshake team forge a common ideology going forward.
