What Causes The Feeling Like You Need To Urinate, Even Right After Urinating?

Mrblogger 1d

It may happen that occasionally you may develop an urgent feeling like you need to urinate again even right after urinating. What causes this burning sensation? What are the symptoms? What could be the treatment? This article will take you through all these.

The feeling like you need to urinate, even right after urinating is known as Urinary urgency. This common condition usually occurs /happens when pressure in your bladder builds suddenly, and therefore it becomes difficult to hold in the urine. The pressure builds very fast and causes a strong and immediate need to urinate even right after urinating. This medical condition however should never be ignored as it may symbolize several other underlying issues such as;

1) Urinary tract infection (UTI)

2) A problem with the bladder.

3) A problem with the prostate in case its a man

You should know that Urinary urgency can occur regardless of whether the bladder is full or empty. This condition can also make a person want to urinate more frequently than usual.

Those suffering from a condition known as Urinary incontinence ( Inability to hold in urine) are more prone to experiencing Urinary urgency. Sudden movements that put additional pressure on the your bladder, such as coughing or laughing, can cause some urine to leak out of the urethra thus causing a person to urinate on himself/herself.

Causes of Urinary urgency

1) Overactive bladder (OAB). OAB is a medical condition in which the bladder puts pressure on the urethra to release urine even when it is not full.

2) Urinary tracts infection (UTI) infection due to bacteria in the urinary tract thus a burning sensation while urinating.

3) Too much consumption of liquids, especially alcohol or caffeine, which are both diuretics ( stimulate the kidney to produce more urine)

4) Interstitial cystitis (feeling of pain and pressure in the bladder area)

5) Vaginal infection in women.

6) Problem with the prostate in men eg enlarged prostate gland (Prostatitis)

7) Some medications which are diuretics.

8) Conditions such as diabetes.

9) Sphincter muscles damage during childbirth or surgery

10) Pressure on the stomach, due to pregnancy or obesity.

Treatments and home remedies.

1) Drinking less drinks and avoiding caffeine and alcohol can help.

2) Avoiding smoking and maintaining a healthy weight may also be beneficial.

3) Bladder training, which involves not holding in urine when you feel the urge to urinate.

4) People can gradually increase the time between toilet visits to train the bladder to hold urine for longer and reduce the frequency of urinary urgency.

5) Physical therapy which strengthens the pelvic floor muscles to support the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body.

6) Taking medications such as antibiotics which will help to relax the bladder.

Health awareness and education programs are very helpful in empowering individuals and the community at large to live healthier lives by improving their physical, mental, emotional and social health.
