Covid-19 is ravaging the country, the virus is causing havoc in schools since they reopened partial on October 12, 2021. Bearly a week after the death of sikusi boys high school principal, another principal in bungoma has succumbed to deadly virus.

St. Bridgits High school principal in Bungoma dies of covid-19 related complications. Madam Brenda Mamati passed on after complaining of fever and shortness of breath. According to the post on teachers in Kenya online official Twitter account the principal is number 20 to succumb to virus.

Her death is a big blow education sector now that schools are preparing for fully Reopening come January next year.
Government should come up with appropriate way of protecting teachers against this deadly virus. Teachers should be provided with personal protective equipment as they are now frontline workers.
