Schools should Close Till 2022 Following WHO's Latest Announcement [Opinion]

Kanali_Ke 10/23/2020

Schools worldwide have been reopened in efforts to cover the time lost in the past months. Kenya for instance reopened schools in October but only for form 4, university finalists, class 8 and grade 4 students. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

While reopening of schools may pose a great threat to learners having had not contained the virus already, it would be of great importance that schools be closed since there's no vaccine. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

To add on the risk learners are exposed to, WHO recently announced disturbing news to the young and healthy individuals across the world. The WHO recently stated that if a vaccine is to be found then it would only be available for the elderly and the most vulnerable in the society. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

While WHO seemingly has neglected the young or assumed their potential to effectively fight the virus, cases amongst them are likely to rise thereby bringing up the need to close the schools till 2022, when vaccines would be available for them.
