The retirement age limit for all government teachers and other public Servants should now be reduced to 55 years as it was before president Kibaki came to power.
As per the current situation in the country brought by covid 19 pandemic, it has emerged that all people having 55 years ago and above are having weak immunity system.
It shall be well to allow them retire early Other than risk their lifes working in schools and other various offices in the country.
Due to the fact that covid 19 pandemic virus might stay for longer than expected, the government should consider cutting the retirement age from 60 years old to 55 years old.
We have witnessed several principals and headteachers dying from covid-19 pandemic. The ministry of education has already advised teachers with over 58 years to work from home.
How can principals and Headteachers manage schools from home really? Is the ministry of education realistic that some teachers work from home?
It shall be better if only they get early retirement from teaching jobs and other public servant offices.
