Inter-Faith Council Issues New Tougher Rules to Curb COVID-19 in Churches, Weddings & Funerals

The community transmission of the novel coronavirus pandemic has increased. Weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced new protocols, the inter-Faith council has on Thursday issued new guidelines to curb the spread of this disease.

Led by the vice chair Connie Kivuti, the council slammed politicians for endangering the lives of Kenyans through political gatherings.

She further stated that only worship services will be allowed in church adding that political meetings will not be given an opportunity during church proceedings.

"The number that will be attending funeral services are 100 people with only 15 allowed at the grave side. The duration of the burial must not exceed one hour and no food should be served in funerals. During weddings, those attending should be strictly 50 people and food should only be served to the nuclear family. .." Connie posed as captured in a video shared by KTN News.

The chairperson of the Inter-Faith Council Catholic Archbishop Antony Muheria contracted the virus days ago and is admitted in Mater Hospital in Nairobi where he doing well.
