In life, when performing our regular activities in the family around the compound, we always come across a wide variety of things. Remember that our ecosystem is made up of a wide variety of plants, animals among several other. Everything we come across is always claimed to have been created for a specific purpose as the book of Genesis demands. This means that we should always try the best we can to recognised the economic importance of everything we come across in form of plants. Unfortunately, most of the children in the current generation miss out on the knowledge about this. They will always see certain things but fail to realize it's economic importance to human.
The plant shown above is one of the most valuable plant that exists in our ecosystem. It's something that grows naturally and can be easily transplanted to a new place. As we move around the compound, most of us must have realized it presence but fail to think twice about the reason behind it's existence. Mostly, it's always found around the latrines that were used by our parents. This evidence is good enough to provide a hint on its major use because of where it's located. It's leaves were exposed and used as a substitute for toilet paper. This is because of how soft and thick it's leaves are hence provides for a safety use when going for a long call.
Alternatively, this plant was used as a banana ripener in the olden days. Something that has just been substituted by the use of chemicals when riping bananas. This plant was used to accelerate the rate of riping bananas and enhance the taste of the fruits. Before packing them in a weavered container, the leaves were applied at the bottom layer before arranging the bananas. After that, some leaves were also lain on top of the stock then wrapped well and put in a warm condition probably on top of the ceiling board. This makes the final product extremely appreciated by the consumer. Apart from all these, the plant was used for medicinal purposes in the olden days. So, let's learn to respect the little plant we come across but we don't know them well.
