The Kenyan government have induced new rules on alcohol consumption. The new guidelines is made as preventing measure to control Corona virus pandemic spreading among the alcohol users. According to The Standard, the new guidelines were made in agreement with all stakeholders.
The government is determined in war against covid-19 and encourage all alcohol users to adhere to new rules. The users and are to maintain social distance of 1.5 meters apart. They are also expected to practice high hygiene while in the places of alcoholic drinks.
The government also have encouraged the alcoholic beverages sellers to be keen with symptoms of covid-19. Anyone who will show the symptoms must remain home and adhere to MoH measures on quarintine and the accompanied rules.
Other rules is that no drinker should be allowed close to counter. This will ensure maximum security between the drinker and alcohol sellers. Body temperature measuring should not be abandoned and also the minimum number of drinkers should be allowed in places of alcoholic drinks.
The bars and restaurants responsible for selling alcohol should keep the records of all drinkers who visit them. Failure to these rules, the owners of these restaurants will face the law including fines or jail for six months.
