CS Magoha Announces There Will Be No More Boarding Schools in 2021

There be no boarding as from January 2021. This has been confirmed by MOE CS Prof Magoha. The CS said rhis when he before the Parliamentary Education Committee. He was answerin questions from the commitee members who sought to know the preparatins the MOE has put in place as schools reopen. Prof Magoha said that this will be in the beat interest of tje learners in combarting Covid 19 spread.He highligted congestion in some boarding schools, lack of clean water, inadequate medical facilities like sick Bay as someof the factors contributing to the decision. KNUT secretary general has been in forefront campaigning against primary boarding schools as they rob the young learners of parental love. Majority of learners will definitely celebrate this decision. However it will be bad news for parents as they want their children away from them.

The CS further said that they are consisering localising teachers so thatt they work near their homes. Incase of boarding schools only a few regional schools will be considere. Otherwise day schools will be given an upper hand.
