Kaizer chiefs youngsters to lookout next season

Kaizer chiefs is a well-known club in South Africa who develops players like we have seen with the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Hendrick Ekstein, Mandla Masango and George Lebese.

Multi Diski Choice has played a huge role in developing youngsters because they get recognized in the competition. Kaizer chiefs might have not won the cup before but they have benefited a lot from it. Some players from the competition who were promoted to the senior team have not met our expectations like Emmanuel Letlotlo who recently parted ways with the Soweto giants.

Here are the players that you can look out for next season from the Chiefs development.

1. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo

The 20-year-old midfielder was promoted from the club’s youth development at the start of the 2018/19 campaign but was only introduced to the PSL stage in the final third of the season. Ngcobo suffered an achilles injury during a 1-1 draw with SuperSport United in March last year, in what was his debut season for Chiefs. He is the Kaizer chiefs captain in the MDC side.

2. Given Thibedi

Thibedi is a Chiefs development product who is currently on loan at the Dube Birds for a season.The 22-year-old central midfielder from Emalahleni has been a marvel to watch for the promotion-chasing Swallows in the GladAfrica Championship this season. Thibedi has been backed to replace George Maluleka at Chiefs next season since Maluleka will be leaving.

3. Njabulo Blom

The 20-year-old gained promotion to Chiefs’ first-team back in March 2019, where he’s went on to make four appearances for Amakhosi so far. He has been playing as a full-back ahead of Moleko and Zulu in some occasions before having a muscle injury.

Blom also has two particular occasions that will hold significance for him for years to come in what has been his debut PSL season.

After making his first appearance against Golden Arrows in October last year, the 20-year-old went on to help Amakhosi beat Sundowns 2-0 at Loftus Versveld, in what was only his second professional match, a few weeks later.

4. Happy Mashiane

Many have walked through the gates of the Chiefs Village and went on to become superstars with the platform given to them by one of the biggest clubs in the PSL.

These include the likes of the late Patrick ‘Ace’ Ntsoelengoe, John ‘Shoes’ Moshoe, Isaac ‘Shakes’ Kungwane, Ace Khuse and Doctor Khumalo, to name but a few.

22-year-old winger Happy Mashiane now finds himself with the same opportunity to emulate the above-mentioned stars, and he has already enjoyed a taste thereof after showing glimpses of his capabilities in his Soweto Derby debut in February last year.

5. Sizwe Twala

Sizwe Twala is currently on loan at the GladAfrica Championship side Swallows who are looking to gain the promotion to the elite division. Middendorp decided to loan the striker in order to get more game time but will come back at the end of the season. The Soweto-born center forward netted 11 goals for the Chiefs reserve team during the 2018/19 Multichoice.
