Giyani Limpopo offices close down due to Coronavirus

An official in Limpopo Mopani District Offices in Giyani have tested positive with coronavirus which resulted in closing of the office. This is the second municipality to close down its offices after a worker has tested positive of Coronavirus.
The Elias Motsoaledi Municipality at Groberlsdal also closed down this week after an employee tested positive of COVID-19. Offices will remain closed in order to do contact tracing as well as to disinfect facilities. Moreover, Odas Ngobeni, Municipality spokesperson says the affected employee is however in isolation. He added that all employees who were in contact with the affected employee will get tested also.
The municipality has however indicated that all employees will be working from home until such time when it is safe to return to work.
Limpopo province has recorded 730 cases due to COVID-19 and five deaths.
It seems as if Municipal offices employees are also in danger of COVID-19. In the light of this, Ulundi Local Municipality in the Northern Kwazulu- Natal were also temporary closed on Monday after few employees tested positive of COVID-19. Nkosenye Zulu, the municipality spokesperson says they took a descision to close the offices as a precautionary on the advice of the Department of Health.
