Açcident fire claims lives in Limpopo
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. On Monday 29 June 2020, a road accident took place in the Limpopo Province in which lives where lost as a result of a thick fire that erupted as a result of the collision.
The accident is said to have happened at midday on the R521 Dendron road next Marlow farm.
The collision involved a Ford Ranger which was operating as a local delivery vehicle crashed with a Nissan NP 200 bakkie.
It is reported that the Nissan overtook unsafely on a barrier line and lost control and crashed into the Ranger.
This resulted in the driver of the Ford ranger losing his life together with a passenger who he was traveling with.
The death of the two could not be easily ascertained whether it was caused by the accident or the fire that gutted soon after the collision claimed their lives.
The reckless driver of the Nissan bakkie suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital on life support.
Both cars were burnt to ashes as a result of the collision.
Traffic Policing Affairs of the Limpopo Province confirmed the accident and advised drivers to exercise caution whenever they overtake.
