Tanzanite which is used for ornaments is only found in northern Tanzania and is one of the rarest gemstones on Earth. A geologist in Tanzania estimates that its supply may be entirely depleted within the next 20 years. As a scarce stone with its finer colour and clarity, the price is higher.

With his newly found fortune, Laizer plans to invest in his community in Simanjiro District in Manyara.

"I want to build a shopping mall and a school. I want to build this school near my home. There are many poor people around here who can't afford to take their children to school,"he said.

Laizer revealed that he is not educated, but he intends to do things in a professional way. His children will also benefit from this venture as he wants them to be involved in the business at a professional level. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

He emphasised that his character and way of life will not change because he is a millionaire. He plans to continue his humble life and he will not take any extra precautions like hiring bodyguards and installing fancy security systems.

"There is enough security. There won't be any problem. I can even walk around at night without any problem," he said. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Upon hearing of this great achievement, Tanzanian President John Magufuli congratulated Laizer over the phone on his newly found wealth.

Magufuli came to power in 2015 promising to safeguard the nation's interest in the mining sector and increase the governments revenue from it.
