Sad News: ANC Councillor Gunned Down In KZN

An ANC councilor in KwaZulu-Natal was shot dead on Tuesday, scarcely a month after two other gathering pioneers were gunned down. 

The ANC in eThekwini named him as Bhekithemba Phungula, the Ward 84 councilor. He was likewise a branch director. 

He was "executed in a hail of slugs by obscure aggressors at his Umlazi home", said the gathering. 

ANC eThekwini territorial assignment group facilitator Mluleki Ndobe portrayed the executing as "hard and apprehensive". 

"The African National Congress in the eThekwini district is profoundly upset by the incredibly awful, insensitive and brutal homicide of confidant Phungula. We beg the police to pull out all the stops to bring the culprit or culprits of this obnoxious demonstration to equity. There must be neither shelter nor reprieve from the arm of the law for the killers of confidant Phungula," he said. 

Commonplace ANC representative Ricardo Mthembu said the gathering was profoundly upset at the most recent savage episode.

"We have been watching these killings of our councilors and our pioneers at branch and ward level. We are a lot of concerned. Our designation, drove by eThekwini civic chairman Mxolisi Kaunda, is still with the family. We will talk after that discussion has finished up," he said. 

The murdering comes only weeks after another office conveyor was executed in the north of the area. 

Phillip Mkhwanazi was a councilor at the Mtubatuba neighborhood district and furthermore filled in as the ANC boss whip. He was shot dead in May. Ethekwini ANC Youth League branch secretary Thamsanqa Kingdom Gcabashe was shot dead in the Hammarsdale territory around the same time.

IFP councilor Thengezakhe Maphanga likewise kicked the bucket in a hail of projectiles prior in May. 

Ndobe said savagery against political pioneers was popping up.
