Manhunt launched for car hijacking suspects

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The Police in Ritavi, outside Tzaneen have launched a massive manhunt for five unknown armed suspects involved in a car hyjacking incident that allegedly took place at Nkowankowa Section C on Tuesday evening. 

A 36-year old man who was privately selling his VW City Golf vehicle, allegedly received a phone call from a potential buyer and immediately drove to the area to meet with him. When he arrived, he allegedly found two men and they started with the negotiations. While they were busy, three other men emerged from nowhere, one armed with a firearm. One of the suspects then fired several shots randomly while others grabbed the victim and took his car keys

Thereafter, the suspects drove off with the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle is blue in colour, with registration number BHJ 594 L. 

Members of the community are once more advised and encouraged to avoid entering into such deals with unknown people, to avoid these types of incidents.” said Captain Freddie Lubbe
