SuperSport United winger Aubry Modiba has been linked with Mamelodi Sundowns.

With Mamelodi Sundowns having secured the signatures of Bidvest Wits triple. The Chloorkop outfit are keen to add more new signings to their squad. Two players from SuperSport United have been targeted by Mamelodi Sundowns and they are working on securing their signatures heading into this transfer window. Aubry Modiba and Ttebogo Mokoena could be joining the Brazilians come next season if their deal goes accordingly.

Sundowns began asking questions about the SuperSport United utility players prior to the start of the 2019/20 season and when nothing materialised then, the reigning Absa Premiership champions stepped it up a gear in January.

Supersport United are willing to let go of their Winger Aubrey Modiba and Sundowns want to capitalize from this coming transfer window.

“I am happy that we did the right thing and we approached them for the player and it was not successful. Maybe Sundowns can explain what happened because I do not do transfers. I only ask if I can have this player or the other one,” confirmed by Sundowns coach Pitso at the time Modiba singed a new contract with SuperSport United.

SuperSport United had budget cuts and things are not going to be the same as they were going into the 2020/21 season. The club’s financial status has been impacted even though there are no salary cuts for staff and players.

The door is open for Modiba and another one of their star player Tebogo Mokoena to be sold. Both the players have been on Sundowns wanted list and a fresh approach has been made in an attempt to land Modiba’s signature for the upcoming season.

Sundown have been in pursuit of SuperSport United star asset Tebogo Mokoena.

The Brazilians are taking all the chances to sign the new players to boost their squad for the upcoming seasons. They are willing to break their bank to land players who will help Sundowns to win trophies and the CAF champions League as well.

The transfer fee will have to be substantial given that the player put pen on paper on a new deal to run until june 2024 to fend off interest from Sundowns six months ago, while Mokoena’s contract would expire 12 months earlier. Budget cuts have often done the trick in persuading clubs to sell to their rivals.
