Replying to the tweet from the club's official account, the Spaniard wrote 'forever grateful' alongside a heart emoji.
De Gea joined the Red Devils nine years prior from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in the wake of being actually screened by Sir Alex Ferguson who was searching for a drawn out substitution for Edwin van der Sar.
The Spaniard proceeded to set up himself as perhaps the best goalkeeper on the planet in Manchester despite the fact that his last few seasons at Old Trafford have been tormented by irregularity.
De Gea has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the Community Shield (x3) and the Europa League during his Man United spell up until this point.
