Political analysts have attacked Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of jumping from one political party to the other ahead of the September 19 governorship election in the state.
Obaseki moved from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party while Ize-Iyamu headed in the opposite direction.
Speaking with news men on Monday on the political development in the state, Head of Department of Political Science, Prof Jonah Onuoha, described Nigerian politicians as a set of people, with no shame and are only out to seek personal gains above serving the people.
He added that there is no way Nigerian politics will move forward with the present crop of politicians who jump from one party to another party just to get power and to gain self interest.
He also condemned Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu for leaving their respective groups and joining another and have now emerged gubernatorial candidates for APC and PDP respectively in Edo state. He went further to say that Nigerian Politicians do not have focus, ideology, values and principles, and that there is no single difference between them and the military. That they all possess the same attributes passing powers among themselves.
He maintained that the unprofessional display of Nigerian Politicians is an embarrassment to Nigeria's democracy especially outside the country. This has also resulted to so many Nigerians having hopeless future.
