“My father died when he was about 70. Then I said if I reach 70, it’s okay". This was the statement of senator Abiola Ajimobi during an interview with Splash FM a few months ago.
The people of Oyo state and Nigeria at large has been thrown into the state of mourning following the shocking news of the death of the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Ajimobi, who was being treated for COVID-19 complications passed away at the First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos state.
Prior to his death on Thursday, Ajimobi was the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) but sadly he never assumed office due to his health status. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
The former senator who became the first two tenure governor of Oyo state following his re-election in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressive congress died at the age of 70.
But did senator Ajimobi correctly predict his death at the age of 70?
In an interview with splash FM a few months ago, Ajimobi said “My father died when he was about 70. Then I said if I reach 70, it’s okay. I reached 70 and I want more”
