Confirmed! Abiola Ajimobi is dead

Days after news of his death first hit the media space, it has now been confirmed that former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi is dead.
Ajimobi who was 70 years old died after weeks of being on life support with complications from Coronavirus. Late last week, rumours of the death of the former Oyo state governor hit the internet but this was later debunked by close associates.
The 70 year old politician who has been at the forefront of the ongoing crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress is reported to have been in critical condition for several weeks.
He is reported to have died at the First Cardiologist Hospital in Lagos. It would be recalled that Ajimobi has been in coma at the same hospital for several days now.
Born Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi on December 16, 1949, Ajimobi studied in the United States of America before proceeding to work with Shell where he rose to Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell.
After retiring from Shell, Ajimobi joined politics and was elected a Senator in Oyo state. He was later elected Governor of the state.
