The federal government had declared lockdown and enforced curfew on citizens at the inception of Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Considering how the outbreak of Covid-19 has hampered the progress of different sectors in the country this year, there is no doubt that there will be changes in the modus operandi of these sectors as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had earlier said that the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic have presented an unprecedented opportunity for Nigeria to reset critical sectors of its economy.

President Muhammadu Buhari had announced the ease of lockdown on June 12, but as a result of the increase in Covid-19 cases, the Nigerian government has hinted on ordering another lockdown across the country.

Recently, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, said ordering another lockdown won’t be out of place, considering the increasing number of COVID-19 cases across the country.

He stressed that the way Nigerians are romancing the virus was an indication of danger in the nearest future.

According to Mustapha: "This is the time to lock down if it were within my power. This is the time to lock down because I can see the attitude of people romancing with COVID-19.

"The daily increase in confirmed cases, the federal government feels a sense of frustration because we can see glaringly the danger ahead and you can see the level of recklessness on the part of people who should know better."

Every State in Nigeria should comply with Boss Mustapha on another lockdown, for the reason of the president rise in Covid-19 cases in the country.

On the 28th of June 2020, 490 new confirmed cases were reported and 565 deaths.

According to the NCDC, the 490 new cases were reported from 20 states- Lagos (118), Delta (84), Ebonyi (68), FCT (56), Plateau (39), Edo (29), Katsina (21), Imo (13), Ondo (12), Adamawa (11), Osun (8), Ogun (8), Rivers (6), Kano (5), Enugu (3), Bauchi (3), Akwa Ibom (3), Kogi (1), Oyo (1), Bayelsa (1)

This brought the total number of confirmed cases to 24,567, with Lagos state having a total of 10,144, confirmed cases, followed by Abuja (1,792), Oyo (1,306), Kano (1,200), Rivers (1,056), Edo (962), Delta (912), Ogun (782), Kaduna (703), Katsina (549), Bauchi (500), Gombe (492), Borno (486), Ebonyi (395), Plateau (337), Jigawa (317), Imo (303), Abia (302).

Enugu state has recorded 261 cases, Ondo (244), Kwara (217), Nasarawa (206), Bayelsa (185), Sokoto (151), Osun (116), Akwa Ibom (86), Niger and Adamawa (84), Zamfara and Kebbi (76), Anambra (71), Yobe (59), Benue (47), Ekiti (43), Taraba (19), while Kogi state has recorded 3 cases.

Having seen the above records, all Nigerian states should comply with Boss Mustapha on another lockdown.

Mustapha is a politician , he doesn't have the interest of NIGERIANS at heart
