The result of this massive defection to PDP will open the door for success not only in the Edo state election but in other elections. 2023 general elections inclusive.

Many states of the federation will have PDP as the most powerful party. Many governors will be from PDP. The president will be from PDP. Many senators and house of representatives will emerge from the PDP.

Presently, PDP seem to have become more powerful than before as the result of the defection of governor Obaseki to PDP.

If governor Obaseki win the Edo state gubernatorial election at the end, many more members of the All Progressive Congress party may defect to PDP or other parties.

The PDP's main opposition party APC may recover late. This is because the crisis which started long ago is yet to be resolved by the party's members.

Furthermore, governor Obaseki's success may lead to more defection from APC to PDP and other parties. This will delay the recovery of the All Progressive Congress from the crisis. Losing members alone is a crises by itself not to talk of having another issue.

They way things are going now, governor Obaseki is getting more stronger. He may win the election. If he wins, what way said above may likely happen.
