Former Governor Of Oyo state Abiola Ajimobi is dead.

The former governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi was a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. 

Although the ex governor Ajimobi had been positive with CoronaVirus for over three weeks now and had been receiving proper and extensive treatment at the First Cardiologist Hospital in Lagos state.

Due to his state of health and an underlying medical condition, the former governor was said to have undergone a lungs surgery at the hospital to fix his health and out him in a proper state before he later died today.

Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi born in 1949 is a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria. 

He left the oil sector in 2002 after 26 years, and was elected in 2003 as a Senator of the Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) after one term in the senate.

Recently, Ajimobi was appointed as the APC Acting National Chairman after the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomole was affirmed by the Appeal court but he was temporarily replaced with Prince Hilliard Eta after his health issue could not allow him perform his constitutional duty.

Ajimobi, who had been in coma and on life support machine for some days after a surgery passed away at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi.

The governor who is popularly known as "koseleri Governor" is said to be the best Governor the state would ever produce in a long time due to his policies and governance style between 2011 and 2019.

After his tenure as governor, he contested for a second term tenure as senator to represent Oyo south senatorial district but which he lost.

A credible source said Ajimobi, who was being treated for COVID-19 complications has been totally unconscious since last Thursday after his organs totally collapsed.

However about 30 minutes ago the ex-Governor was confirmed dead. He died at the ripe age of 70.
