Recall that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had earlier, on June 10, 2020, announced their plans for the enrollment of a new batch of N-Power beneficiaries. It was in their statement that they disclosed of the registration date to be June 26, today.

According a statement by the Ministry, the N-Power programme has enrolled 500,000 beneficiaries. 200,000 from Batch A in 2016 and 300,000 from Batch B in 2018, thus making the number 500,000.

The N-Power programme is meant to last for not more than 24 months even though the first batch are still in the process but the Federal Government has decided a plan for another programme to take care of them when they sign out by July, 31, 2020.

In the Ministry's statement, " the current beneficiaries from Batch A and B are scheduled to transit the programe by July 31, 2020 with plans already in place to transition them into entrepreneurship."

The N-Power programme is one of the the greatest achievements of the PMB government put in place in 2016 under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) with the intent to eradicate poverty and reduce the ever daring number of unemployment in the country. This was planned and carried out through capacity building, investment and direct support.

The programme is targeted for unemployed Nigerian youths between the age of 18-35 "to contribute in building a skilled Nigerian workforce."
