Akwa Ibom State Government Declines Charges Against Arrested Christ Embassy Pastor
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Akwa Ibom State government has declined the accusations against the pastor of Christ Embassy Church in Uyo, Pastor Emmanuel Effiong.
Pastor Effiong and a videomaker in the church were apprehended, for allegedly molesting the COVID-19 monitoring committee in the state.
They were indicted for assaulting the officers who were out to guarantee all religious centers followed the COVID-19 protocols. Both men were apprehended after the congregation was shut.
In an announcement released, Charles Udoh, the State Commissioner for Information, announced that the state government’s judgment to decline the penalties against Effiong emerged after petitions from well-meaning people and organizations.
He stressed that the church authority and the pastor have also offered a candid apology to the State government and promised to embrace all the procedures and protocols approved to curb community spreading of Coronavirus in the state.
Subsequent to the petitions from well-meaning people and organizations, the Akwa Ibom State Government has declined the penalties against Pastor Effiong of Christ Embassy Church, Nung Akpa Ime district, off Nsikak Eduok neighborhood, in Uyo.
