See Some Influential Nigerians Who Defied COVID-19 Lockdown Order To Travel Abroad

The Nigerian government took the decision to shutdown all airports in Nigeria and ban international flights to help control the spread of the deadly virus in Nigeria. This was announced by the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Musa Nuhu.

However, according to SaharaReporters there has been illegal movement of private jets carrying people of means into and outside Nigeria, thereby defying the regulations of Nigerian government on travel restrictions.

Some of such illegal movement of private jets as reported are;

A Global Express Bombardier 550 luxury jet with registration number N104DA conveyed the wife and kids of Godwin Emefiele, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, to London on Monday. A private jet – a Bombardier Express 7000 with registration number VP-CBT, coveyed Seyi Tinubu and others from Lagos to Stansted Airport, London. This jet was piloted by Captain Giannetakis Michail. Also, a private jet with registration number VP-CFO few from Lagos to Luton Airport, London, on May 22, 2020 with two children of oil magnate, Folorunsho Alakija – Folarin and Rotimi onboard. This occurred despite the travel ban by the Nigerian government. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Another private jet with registration number FLJ611 from Spain to Nigeria with Karl Olutokun Toriola, Vice President, West and Central Africa of MTN, Lagos lawyer, Aisha Rimi and four others onboard on May 16, 2020.

It was also reported that a private jet with registration number D-CAWX, which flew from London to Nigeria on May 8, 2020. It had Belo-Osagie Yasmin, the daughter of billionaire, Hakeem Belo-Osagie, a former chairman of the board of directors of United Bank for Africa, as the only passenger. A private jet with registration number 5N-KAS from the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Lagos to Stansted Airport, London on May 8, 2020. This jet has all the six members of the late Chief of General Staff, Vice Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe’s family on board

You don't want to know the costs of flying these jets. 

With the increasing value of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, it wouldn't be out of place to question the basis of these travels as they can be a way of importing the virus.
