Liverpool football club thrashed its Wednesday opponent, Crystal Palace 4-0 and now edge closer to winning the English Premier League title, knowing a win or draw for Chelsea against Manchester City will see them crowned the English Champions for the first time since 1990.

A perfect free-kick from scouser Trent Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool the lead in the 23rd minute and a fine finish from Mohammed Salah in the 44th minute rewarded Liverpool's first-half dominance at Anfield.

Still, Liverpool continued their dominance after the break. Fabinho Tavares scored a 30-yard screamer in the 55th minutes while Sadio Mane slotted in goal number four in the 68th minute to extend their advantage over Manchester City to 23 points.

With the three points wrapped up after Sadio Mane's goal, Liverpool gave minutes to young stars, Neco Williams and Harvey Elliot and also to January signing, Takumi Minamino.

Liverpool's attentions will now turn to City's trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Thursday.

If Manchester City win at Stamford Bridge, then Liverpool will have the chance to clinch the PL crown against the defending champions next Thursday, July 2.
