FG Reopens Schools For Only Graduating Students, Lifts Ban On Interstate Travels
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The Federal government has lengthened the relief of lockdown starting from tomorrow Tuesday, 30th of June to the 29th of July.
Declaring this at a daily meeting of the PTF on COVID19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, the National Co-ordinator, announced the expansion of the relieved lockdown, however, it comes with few amendments.
Aliyu cited that the embargo on interstate travel will be raised as of the 1st of July. He announced that interstate travel must simply be done out of the national curfew hours that are between 10 pm to 4 am.
He said anybody without a facial mask will not be permitted into all motor parks and that commuter buses will only be permitted to work on 50% capacity.
For interstate trips, movement all over state borders will be permitted exclusively outside curfew periods with effective from the 1st of July.'' he declared.
With respect to Education, Aliyu announced that schools will be reopened nationwide just for graduating classes that are Primary 6, JS three, and SS three. He strengthened that all primary schools and daycare schools stay closed until further examination. Secondary with Tertiary institutions to stay closed.
Aliyu announced there will be a careful reopening of airport terminals for local flights as soon as possible.
The Aviation industry is permitted to return to their domestic operations as soon as possible in line with the prevailing international and local protocols on COVID19" he announced.
Sani strengthened that Bars, Gyms, night clubs, Event centers, and Cinemas, and other recreative centers are to stay closed until further examination.
