The Sun has reported that Manchester City are leading the race to sign Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly, with Liverpool prioritising other areas of their squad in the summer.

Manchester United have also been long-linked with the reliable defender, with Napoli reportedly telling manager Gennaro Gattuso that Koulibaly will be sold in the upcoming transfer window. 

The newspaper says Liverpool will be focused on attacking reinforcements after failing to land Timo Werner while Manchester City are in desperate need of defensive options as Pep is not convinced with Otamendi and Garcia in the heart of defenc.

Popular media outlet, Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is open to offloading midfielder Matteo Guendouzi with frustration mounting over the midfielder's antics which includes including him on camera acting up during training.

The 21-year-old France International was recently involved in an altercation with Brighton's Neal Maupay with Arteta said to be less than impressed with Guendouzi's attitude since he arrived at the London club.

Real Madrid midfielder, James Rodriguez has hit back at accusations that he is unprofessional and addressed speculation about his future at the Santiago.

In an interview with TC programme Gol Caracol, James Rodriguez said: "It's always uncomfortable to listen to the many lies that are said about someone, what's important is the opinion of my family and those who know me.

"Anyway, it's something that doesn't affect me because I know what's true and I work hard every day to be where I am. Those who surround me are always happy with what I have to offer.

"A lot of things have been said about me and almost all of them are lies. What most annoys me is that my professionalism has been put in doubt, and I can't accept that.

"There never was any problem [with Zidane]. Every manager has a different taste. We have a normal working relationship. In the future you never know what's going to happen, but if they let me choose, I would pick a club where I could show my abilities and my conditions."

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard says Chelsea have not made a bid for Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz.

The 20-year-old Germany International has been tracked by europe top clubs this summer including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

While speaking about the midfielder, Frank Lampard said: "He's a top player but we're certainly not going to comment on players at other teams," said the Chelsea head coach. "It cannot be our focus. No bids have gone in."
