The announcement is part of the proceedings of the ongoing NEC virtual meeting announced by Victor Giadom with president Muhammadu Buhari in attendance.
All the members in attendance have unanimously nominated Yobe state governor, Bala Buni as the new APC acting National Chairman.
Mr. Bala Buni will serve the party as chairman until a national convention is held. Bala will also combine governorship and national championship roles. He had served the APC as National Secretary until his election as governor of Yobe state in 2019.
The APC has also reportedly dissolved it's National Working Committee (NWC). Many members of the NWC were absent from the controversial virtual NEC meeting as they alleged that Giadom cannot hold such a meeting in the capacity of the acting APC National Chairman. The officials, including National Acting Secretary, Waziri Bulama and it's spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu do not appear to be attending the meeting.
