The late Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was reported to have been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications, finally died on Thursday, according to Vanguard report. Ex Governor Abiola Ajimobi was said to have been operated on his lungs, after being rushed to the hospital, and recorded kidney failure after the surgery.
Senator Ajimobi’s family was said to have been informed by the doctors battling to save his life, on Friday, that the health condition of the former Oyo state Governor had defied every medication and that only a miracle could bring him back to life again. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
The fear of the doctors, friends and family came to pass, on Thursday, as the APC Deputy National Chairman finally succumbed to the powerful virus that has also killed several prominent Nigerians which included the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who was also treated for the same virus at the same medical facility, Cardiology Hospital, where he also lost the battle of his life.
Earlier, Ex Governor Abiola Ajimobi's death was rumoured about one and half weeks ago, which was later dispelled by his media aide, Mr Bolaji Tunji, one of his children, inlaw and other close friends and political associates. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who was born on December 16, 1949, and the immediate past Chief Executive of Oyo state, has been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, before his death on Thursday.

In his reaction, the Oyo state Chairman of APC, Chief Akin Oke said, “We can’t make any official statement now when the family members have not said anything. We are hearing just like you people and it has to be authenticated before any official statement can be made”.
Reports have it that medical experts tried all they could to revive Governor Ajimobi from the coma he slipped into from unconsciousness, but to no avail.
