Chelsea will be facing Manchester United for the 4th time this season after being drawn together in the FA Cup Semi Final. However, they will be facing a Manchester United team that have proved to be a better and more superior team.

Chelsea were drawn with Manchester United in the FA Cup Semi final on Sunday evening, having knocked out Leicester City in the Quarter Final encounter by 1 goals to nil.

The Blues will be looking to revenge the three defeat they suffered from the Red Devils this season, in two different Competitions. Manchester United, who have defeated Chelsea, twice in the Premier League this season, have also knocked the Blues out of the quarter final fixture of the Carabao cup.

Chelsea on their path, will see this FA cup semi final fixture as an opportunity to get one past their toughest opponents this season.

And knocking them out of the FA Cup will serve as compensation to the three defeat they have recieved from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tutored Manchester United side, this season.

However, Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have proved to be a formidable team when facing top English teams as their track records since the Norwegian took over speaks volume. Particularly for Chelsea, The Red Devils have proved to be their most difficult opponent since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over.

Before the Norwegian took over as manager, United have struggled to beat Chelsea as they have won just two of their last 12 Fixtures against the Blues in all Competions since Sir Alex Ferguson retired(6 loses and 6 draws).

And it was under ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tutelage, this season, that United were able to secure their first league double over Chelsea, since 1987/1988 season.

Before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over, previous managers like David Moyes, Louis Van gaal and Jose Mourinho have failed to replicate Sir Alex Ferguson's dominance over the Blues.

Manchester United, under David Moyes failed to defeat Chelsea on three occasions, drawing two and losing one.

And when Jose Mourinho was at the dugout as the Red Devils' manager, the Old Trafford outfit were battered by Chelsea 4-0 in Jose Mourinho's first outing as United Manager facing Chelsea.

The Portuguese was also knocked out of the 2017 and 2018 FA Cup Quarter Final round by Chelsea. And could only get two wins in seven matches, registering 4 defeat and a draw against the Blues.

However, since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over in November 2018, United haven't lost a single game against Chelsea in 5 different encounter, winning 4 and drawing 1. And have also knocked the Blues out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in two different seasons under two different manager, Mauricio Sarri and Frank Lampard.

In Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first match against Chelsea as a United manager, on the 18th of February, 2019 The Red Devil's defeated Chelsea under sarri at Stamford Bridge by 0-2 and it was an FA Cup encounter.

On the 28th of April, 2019, in what was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's second game against Chelsea as a United Manager. The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and that was the last match between these two rivals in the 2018/2019 season

The 2019/2010 season started with fixtures between these two rivals and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United avenged the 4 nil bashing United recieved under Jose Mourinho's guidance, by Pummelling Frank Lampard's Chelsea by 4 unreplied goals.

Both teams also met on the 30th of October 2019, in a Carabao cup Quarter Final match as Marcos Rashford's Scintillating Ronaldo esque free-kick gave United a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

On the 17th of February, 2020, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United faced Frank Lampard's Chelsea in the reverse fixtures of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. And United still defeated the Blues by 2 goals to nil, which makes it 4 wins and one draw in 5 matches against Chelsea since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as United Manager.

Judging by this precedent and fact, I can't see anything other than another Emphatic United victory when these two rivals face off at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi Final encounter in July.

And Furthermore, since the Norwegian took over as Manchester United's manager, he hasn't only gotten the better of Frank Lampard but have gotten the better of Chelsea as a club and it seems he understands their philosophy, style of play and have also carved out a way to nullify their threat tactically.

The Norwegian United's team have scored 11 goals and conceded only 2 in 5 matches against Chelsea, since he took over the reign.

And It remains to be seen how this game will pan out when these two arch rivals face off again. However, judging by the United's manager's antecedent and stat against Chelsea, there is surely going to be one winner, and we shouldn't be looking past Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United team to grab the win as they have proved to be a more superior and a better side to the Chelsea team.

Perhaps, when the Norwegian finally leaves Manchester United, Chelsea fans who have been hoping for a revenge may get it or better still, wait till next season as Manchester United have looked like they will always thrash them anytime they meet, till the foreseeable future.

Chelsea fans, when do you think your club is going to break the Manchester United jinx?

United Fans, do you see Chelsea defeating your team when they face off in the FA Cup tie next month?
